The founding partner has worked on behalf of a number of Local Authorities and Approved Inspectors throughout England. Major duties involved legislation in reference to buildings; planning; environment; water and health with responsibility to ensure that all work inspected complied with building legislation and regulations.
The founding partner worked with Housing Associations and within other departments of Birmingham City Council, tasked with ensuring that contractors complied with all relevant building legislation. For example: CDM, COSHH, Health and Safety at Work Regulations including Management Regulations.
Additional experiences were:
Risk Assessment: identification and diagnosis of building defects for the preparation of suitable improvement schemes.
Preparation of detailed work schedules in accordance with the Employer’s
Schedule of Unit Rates and Specification of Quality of Work.
Day-to-day contract control and monitoring of expenditure.
Responsibility for ensuring that building regulations, building control, safety standards and relevant risk assessments were achieved and maintained.
The founder partner has worked as a building consultant from 2005 to the present. This has led to development in other areas which include writing Survey Inspections; Reports and Scott Schedules for court; lecturing in Construction, Health and Safety and the Built Environment. With more than 25 years’ experience of working in the building environment, the founding partner has a well-grounded appreciation of Building Regulations and the associated legislation – leading to enhanced abilities for analysis and discussion of building design problems.
